I’ve been playing A Realm Reborn since it launched, but I have also been playing it incredibly casually. Hence, while most people I know in the game have multiple jobs to level 50, and each of them have some pretty phat lewts, I’m running around as my level 50 paladin (my only level 50) still trying to nab what would be considered “the old endgame content.”
Still, something I love about this game is that it’s perfectly fine if you wanna play it like someone who sucks (like me). Most quests are soloable, most dungeons can be done in about 30 minutes, and the Duty Finder will help group you up with people who want to kill the same internet dragons as you.
I’d played FFXI for about 8 years, but I had to stop just because I honestly did not have the time between school (and then a job) to camp Shitface Fafnir for 3 hours in the hopes of getting a chance to fight him for an hour, where if we happen to win, he might drop his shit sword, and if he does, I might get it. That said, though, I loved that game, which is why it was so cool to see Shantotto of FFXI in a seasonal event!

I am also a bigger fan of FFXIII than I think most people may have been, which could be a post for another time. I enjoyed the FFXIII event very much, as well!

Also, this game wouldn’t be half as fun as it is for me if it weren’t for my good friend Cory, or as we call him in Eorzea, Flona Lasbard. I actually call him “Croy” a lot, too.
